At K.C. Police Credit Union it has always been our policy to not share non-public personal information we maintain with any nonaffiliated third party. We are committed to providing you with financial products and services, which meet your needs, and assist you in reaching your financial goals. Nothing in this policy has changed, however under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, we are required by law to give you this privacy notice which explains how we collect, use and protect your personal financial information. Information We Collect

We collect non-public information about you from the following sources:

  • Information we receive from you on your application or other credit union forms.
  • Information about your transactions with us, our affiliates, or others such as your balances, payment history, credit card usage and parties to transactions.
  • Information we receive from a third-party consumer reporting agency.

Information We Disclose

K.C. Police Credit Union does not disclose any personal information about our members and former members to anyone, except as permitted by law. When we do disclose personal information, it is done under the strictest controls. Permitted under the law, we may disclose all the information we collect as described above to affiliated companies and companies that perform services on behalf of K.C. Police Credit Union, or to other financial institutions with which we have joint agreements. We do not permit these companies to sell the member information we provide to third parties. We may also disclose information to process and service transactions on your behalf or for reasons authorized by law and regulations.

How We Safeguard Your Information

We restrict access to non-public information about you only to those employees needing to know that information in order to provide products or financial services to you. We maintain physical, procedural and electronic safeguards that comply with Federal regulations to protect your non-public personal information.

What You Can Do To Help Protect Your Privacy

K.C. Police Credit Union encourages all its members to follow the guidelines listed below to help protect their privacy.

  • Always use caution when disclosing any account number and/or social security number to any other person. If you ever receive a call on behalf of the Credit Union asking for this information, you should seriously question the request. Officials of the Credit Union should have access to this information and should not be requesting it from you.
  • Safeguard all your credit card, debit card, ATM card numbers and never write the PIN numbers down, especially on the card itself. Doing so can provide free access to your accounts if your card is stolen or lost.
  • Always provide the Credit Union with current information about you. By doing so, we can quickly reach you should we detect a potential fraudulent or unauthorized activity on your account. If you have an address or phone number change, please contact us so we can update our records.
